0001j4 I have always liked BMW’s cars and bikes and ever since I saw Mark van der Kwaaks’s CAD Bike 33, I have wanted to do one of my own.  So I bought this beautifully restored 1982 R80 on Ebay and have now pulled it apart ready to customise!

So far the only decisions I have made are to follow my current theme of 23″ wheels front and back, although this time I am getting them CNC’d to match the pattern of the existing BMW wheels, and stick them on a cool new rigid frame.  Expect some form of rolling chassis in June/July.

    Hi Ian
just a note to let you know that I am interested to see how you progress with the bkie, did you manage to ride it prior to stripping? Just bought an 96 BMW R1100RT to play with

    best regards

Yes – just a quick ride the weather stopped me doing anymore. My next step is to get the new 23″ wheels CNC’d in Billet and then I will have a good think about the look!
Keep checking in for progress, and enjoy your new project too!
    Best wishes

    IAN
