The Great Mile 2017 | Posted on October 6, 2017

Browsing through Instagram a while ago I saw that those fine luggage makers Malle had decided to organise a rally from Castle Mey the most northerly part of Scotland to the Lizard the most southerly point of mainland England.  It was going to be 1000 miles over 4 days on custom and classic bikes – brilliant!

I signed up for the camping myself package as my wife had kindly agreed to meet me half way in our old VW camper providing me with a bit of comfort.  I was put in a team with 3 others Jamie, Adrian and Philip and on a mix of bikes, my 2016 Dyna Low Rider S, an tweaked RnineT, a Kevils Moto and and an Untitled Guzzi 500cc off we went on what turned out to be 1250 miles.

As an experience it was hard to beat the scenery was magnificent, and the group and hospitality was wonderful  – if I could have changed anything it would have been glorious sunshine instead of torrential rain on the last day – but we got there!

Will definitely sign up for next year!
